This weekend was the school fundraiser. They do a loto (like bingo) every year. The parents are asked to donate the prizes. Since most of the parents are vineyard owners a lot of wine was donated. There were also some other amazing prizes like a flat screen TV, a Nespresso (I really wanted to win this capuccino maker) George Clooney does all the commercials for Nespresso and it has really taken off along with George Clooney's cudos.
Michael and I showed up at 3:00 to help set up, then we went into the kitchen to help. There was a lot of food sold at the loto which was also donated. I donated some fudge, which was called brownies because they dont know fudge.
The loto started at 7:30 and went till midnight. At midnight the TV and 12 cases of wine were given so no one went home. After you are asked to help break everything down so you dont go home until 1am. There are a bunch of kids which play off to the side, some of them asleep some hanging in there.
Needless to say even though we bought 20 cards we didnt win a thing.. but I have to say I know my numbers in French now.
