Sarlat
Sarlat-la-Canéda,
The town of Sarlat is in a region known in France as the Périgord Noir. The Périgord is known for its walnuts, fois gras and Bergerac wine.
Sarlat is a medieval town that developed around a large Benedictine abbey of Carolingian origin. The medieval Sarlat Catherdral is dedicated to Saint Sacerdos.
Sarlat is one of the most attractive and alluring towns in southwestern France.
Several Hollywood movies were shot here.
I must say it is worth the visit.
View from our roomEnormous doors
Inside a cute little market
Imagine the hinges on these doors
Biggest piece of glass I have ever seen, dont know how they made it or got it up there
Town center
A bit rainy today
These guys are every where
Love these little streets
Guy with lots of chairs
Loved the shop signs
This is a fantastic idea, take a book or leave one
Tatiana's favorite ride
She gets it and wins a free ride
Cool menu
A witch shop
Beautiful slate roof
Saturday was market day
very tiny and delicious strawberries
This is fois gras land
Of course a meal isnt complete with out the cheese
An escapee

Went to this restaurant recommended to us by our hotel. Steaks brought on a steaming hot piece of slate. You cook it to your liking. Was the most tender meat we have ever had!
My cousin Kitty recommended this town and she was
right it is a beautiful town.
