Christmas at the Apelbaums
We spent Christmas with our friends the Apelbaums. It was a lunch that lasted 6 hours.
Starting with Champagne and fois gras. First course was oysters, salmon, crab legs followed by chapon with all the trimmings and veggies from Mapi's garden, then some superb local cheeses, topped off with some English Christmas cake, chocolate fudge, mince pies then coffee and truffles. All courses served with vintage wine from their private cellar. Yup, we wanna be invited back next year :)

First flight ALONE
Tatiana is off to LA for some intense studying. We have decided to send her to a British boarding school, her entrance exam is Jan 9th. Her aunt Carol has set up a 2 week study of Maths, Science and English. She will first arrive at my moms house for Christmas then shes off to San Diego for her studies. When she returns to London she will take the exam. YIKES! We find out if she gets in 2 weeks later! We have been praying about this for a long time and feel that this is the right thing for her (if she gets in) no, I mean WHEN she gets in (fingers crossed)

Haiti here we come
Our small group will be going to Haiti in Feb, we will be going with Compassion International to visit the 17 kids we sponsor. We had our kids come up with a fund-raiser. They came up with a Christmas market, they made all the decorations to sell (we did help a little) We also had a bake sale. We ended up raising 600 euros! I bought backpacks and school supplies for the kids. Thank you to everyone who donated their time, talent or treasure
