Misc shots

The French people are not big on appliances so gadgets that you would find everywhere in the US are very expensive here. I did notice that they do love their
coffee so the only gadget aisle is the coffee aisle.

They have tall thin fridges here
It is berry season and they are everywhere.
We go and pick blackberries for breakfast almost everyday

Thought this was great, you can buy your own grapes and
take them home and plant your own vineyard :)

A beautiful cafe just under the church in St Emilion

I just love the St Emilion church

Yes, the French eat just about anything even horse

What I have noticed so far about the French is..

  • they dont use cinnamon
  • they dont like peanut butter
  • they dont have baking soda
  • they will have toast and coffee for breakfast
  • an enormous lunch (which most of us would consider it the size of a dinner and probably skip dinner if we had this lunch)
Lunch and dinner is as follows, each item is a course
  • Appetizer (which sometimes is a meal in itself)
  • meat dish
  • side dish
  • salad
  • cheese plate with bread
  • desert
  • coffee (it is going to get some getting use to not to have my desert with my coffee.
  • after meal drink
  • an enormous dinner at 9:00
  • they dont snack
  • adults dont drink milk~it is hard to find fresh milk because they dont drink it. They have what is called long life milk which tastes like evaporated milk.
  • there are very few overweight people
  • they love to talk about politics, they all hate Bush
  • they are very guarded about their personal life
  • they drink a lot of wine but dont get drunk
  • all veggies are seasonal you wont find spinach or celery when it's not in season
  • veggies here have a much stronger flavor, a banana has a stronger scent and a fuller flavor same goes for all other fruits and vegetables
I am sure there is more to come:)
