Argentina is home to one of the wonders of the world...Iguazu falls
There are two different sides to the falls the Argentina side and
the Brazil side both are a must see and are completely different.
The Argentina side is a 3 kilometer walk, viewing the falls
the entire time.
We stayed at the Melia which is in the park and I suggest to anyone going to stay here. You have access to the falls early in the morning before the park opens and the hordes of people arrive. It is
magical having the falls to yourself. The first day we arrived it was packed with people, strollers, kids, elderly it was insane! We tried to take the train to devils throat and it was like waiting for
a ride at disneyland. We decided to get up early the next day and try it again and what a difference.
There are two things you are warned about, the monkeys and coatis. Monkeys are
little thieves, lock your room door they get in and reek havoc. You are responsible
for the damage. While we were there several people forgot to lock their door, monkeys
went in and opened fridge and stole medicine, took all drinks out and drank them.
They will also steal anything thats in your back pocket or take your backpack.
this is the trail to devils throat, where you are on top of the waterfalls looking down its throat
early morning we have the trail to ourselves!
devils throat
everything is big here
this was yesterday you couldnt get to the front
There are signs everywhere to be careful with cute furry things.
Do not walk around with food, dont feed them they are aggressive. They have
long sharp claws that they use to climb on you to get to the food.
You would be surprised how many people feed them and try to pet them.
