The Imperial Apartments, Sisi Museum and the Silver Collection are amongst Vienna's top sights, attracting around 600,000 visitors each year. Our favorite was Empress Elisabeth better known as Sisi. She loved to exercise which to the horror of the Palace she put in a gym! She was a healthy eater and watched her weight. She had hair that reached her ankles, which took 3 hours to brush and style. She was known as the most beautiful woman of her time. She was also very unhappy, she didnt want to marry her cousin or be Empress but had no choice. Fate was unkind to her throughout her life, and she was not even spared a peaceful death. An Italian anarchist made sure of that.

Her beloved son was promised to marry a royal but he was in love with a
commoner, when he was told the relationship was forbidden he took a gun to
his beloveds head and shot her then killed himself. Sisi wore black for the
rest of her life.
