Compassion Tour Day 5 Haiti

Today was the day to do home visits, we split up and saw two different homes, then went
to visit a school.

this bus became our second home

we have a surprise for two of our kids! They asked for bikes we got them

most places that would be illegal
this is a restaurant

This girl was sooo cute! She was afraid of me :( I wanted to hold her and kiss her

this is where one of our kids live

this is the neighbor who wanted to see what was going on

Wadley

Surprise! He didnt show much emotion but we could tell he was happy
its important to tell him we didn't give him a bike because he is poor but because we love him

the guy in red is his best friend he didn't look too happy, I am sure he was thinking "what about me?"
Baynes family with Wadley and his little sister
we prayed over him
My husband told him how special he was and how much we love him

Stephane came up with a great idea, he was going to do a book where all pictures are taken from his iPad on the bus. ALL proceeds will go towards kids at Compassion.

Now off to a Compassion school

We arrived and were greeting with a choir, they sang a beautiful song for us.

 these girls sang for us

 inside the school
 playground

 kitchen lady preparing lunch

yes thats a goat's head and thats for lunch
I was told the food was safe so I am trusting it to be so
you just have to eat what they prepare, you can't come here on a diet or a picky eater.
They wont understand they are happy to have a meal and to be able to treat you.

 prayer time
 reading from the Bible
telling us about Compassion Haiti

this where they keep a record of all the kids
each kid has a file with all their progress

it was about 90° they talked for quite a bit of time, the adults found it interesting but the kids were pretty bored and started falling asleep

lunch table

Lunch time with fried goat (it was really good) chicken, plantains, rice, beets,
salad and other local dishes
Haitians love spicy food

I am totally enjoying the pineapple, papaya and mangoes!

it was funny to see the French handle spicy food, they did get use to it by the end of the trip

pottery class

 they loved selfies!
Had to pee, they cleaned the toilets for us

this little girl was so beautiful holding on to her Bible. She lived down the street

so beautiful
she was just too cute

This is Matthew who works at Compassion Haiti, he is in charge of constructing the new buildings. Their goal was 30 new buildings to California Earthquake standards. They have 3 left to build.
We thank God for Matthew.

It will be hard to leave Haiti, there is poverty every where,
no jobs, no food, no water, no Jesus

You dont even know where to start. We are going to start one kid at a time.
