Santo Domingo Compassion tour day 1

While we were in Santo Domingo, Compassion had some bloggers blogging about their experience with the children of Compassion. It was interesting following them and comparing with our own experiences.

Santo Domingo is rich compared to Haiti the kids are much more open and friendly. The kids are definetly chubbier here. Here the poverty is lack of opportunity. You cant help but compare the two countries when you are here.

In Haiti we saw no vegetation here everyone has plantains, mangoes, avocadoes, coconuts, passion fruit in their back yard. No one is starving, yet there is a lot of poverty.

everyone gets weighed for the flight!!

so embarrasing for the girls, good thing the French girls dont mind

We all had to pay a tax to leave Haiti-cash only in dollars
