Its our last day and I dont think I can verbalized our experience. It has been a bigger blessing than I ever imagined.
During our time here Eric (E-rock) our video guy is a martial artist and was showing self defense moves to the other kids and the translators. During our circle time I suggested that he teach the girls self defense because there is so much rape here. He could even do a video or train someone who can teach classes. He loved the idea and when he got back to the US he talked to his coach and they decided to do a training video and fly back to SD and train people. I am so excited about this, the women there need to feel safe and empowered and E-rock is just the guy to do it. Yah God!
We will be looking into building Djuna a new house and sponsoring a few more kids.
Our letter writing will be much better. We are planning on spreading the word here in France and possibly taking another group of people on the same tour.
Thank you again to all those who made this possible.
today we heard 3 testimonies for Compassion kids
he was poor. He had a young mother who was tricked by his dad to sleep with him, once she got pregnant he wanted nothing to do with her because he was already married.
He told us the difference between Compassion and World Vision is that World Vision doesn't invest
in the spirit of the child. He was very angry with his father and this weighed on him, one day his
tutor told him that the Bible says to honor your mother and father. He had to forgive and
honor his father. He called his dad and asked for forgiveness.
He said World Vision wouldn't have taken the time to care about his problems.
He gives thanks to his sponsor who encouraged him through out all those years.
His sponsor was a teenager.
circle time to reflect on our trip
Dominican money
waiting for our bus to go to the airport
This time we flew from SD to New York! then to Paris
it was a bit of a pain because everyone had to get tourist visas even though
we were only getting a connecting flight. The kids loved that we were in NY and
headed straight for the duty free shops.

He is 18 and is going to College and is currently one of Compassions translators
The most profound testimony was from Jonathan who told us that he was so poor his shoes had holes and he use to put cardboard on the inside of his shoe and try to walk normally so no one could tellhe was poor. He had a young mother who was tricked by his dad to sleep with him, once she got pregnant he wanted nothing to do with her because he was already married.
