Vide Grenier

It was Vide Grenier time (garage sales) everyone brings out their treasures or junk and sells it. I loved that when it is lunch time they bring out the
tables and the wonderful food. They just sit and eat but dont
expect anyone to jump up if you need any help.

St Emilion WIne Expo

In June there is a wine festival. You pay one Euro and you can taste as many wines
as you like. The oldest wine club initiates new members and the mayor cuts
the ribbon to start the celebrations. Tatiana was chosen to hold the ribbon.

Prince Albert was here with his girlfriend

The Jurade de Saint-Emilion dates from at least 8th July 1199 when the
Charter of Falaise was sealed by King John.
The Jurats, the officers of the Jurade, controlled all the civic, legal and administrative affairs of the City, including the quality of the wine, marking approved casks with its Great Seal or having them destroyed if the wine in them did not
meet the standards laid down by the Jurade.

The guys in the red coats are the Jurade.

Horsefly

I was bitten by a Horsefly while watching Tatiana do her horse riding. If you dont know, a Horsefly looks like a fly but much bigger. It likes to eat flesh. It will land on you and take a chunk out. You dont feel it until he is gone and it is the most painful bite you will ever have. My hand swelled up and I am told that the pain and swelling lasts a week!
