Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we were invited to Cannes by Tatiana's old Kindergarten teacher. It was a 7 hour drive so we stopped in Carcassonne and Montpellier.

Carcassonne is a walled city

Her boobs are a little off, if that happened
in California there would be a lawsuit

I was hoping this shot could be a Christmas card but the guy that took the photo wasn't photo savvy. Too much floor and not enough of the building :(

very odd spot for a traffic light
low cal treats

who's the lucky lady who gets to dust?
a hair don't
it was pointing to a restaurant
Tatiana favorite thing to do is kick the leaves.
I love all the different colors

a new friend

local church
amazing stained glass

It was very windy and cold

bridge that lead to the kings castle

We stopped in Montpellier and spent the night at the Holiday Inn. Every time we walked by Habib's shop it was packed! We looked through the window and saw some pretty scary hair cuts.
I guess that's what 10 euros buys.

those silly Frenchies
OK, who's idea was this?Frederique and Jean-Claude our amazing cooks. In France there is no stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce or the cute turkey tray and apron. They had it all sent from the U.S

Roland and his wife Martine use to go to LILA now have moved back to Paris. Isabelle use to be the 3rd grade teacher at LILA and has moved back to Montpellier. It was great reuniting with everyone and talking about our experiences.
Tatiana's old friends from LILA

They bought this new day bed and it kept collapsing. At one point there were 7 adults trying to figure out how fix it. We ended up putting books under the bed to hold it up.

Morning breakfast, we had a feast and sported our chocolate bars (French version of a six pack stomach)It was great that everyone made an effort to come so far for this dinner and our hosts for putting all of us up and our kids for the night. We are talking about doing it again next year:)

Frederique worked in the US for several years. Her son Thibaut memories are all of California. They are now living in the Provence area. One day very soon after their return they were driving and it started to rain. Here the cars have auto wipers when
they sense rain on the windshield.
Thibaut shouted "daddy what is that thing!" "How did you do that" "What is that black thing jumping on the car"

Jean-Claude couldn't figure out what he was talking about, they finally realized he was talking about the windshield wipers. Living in California, they never got used so he didn't know what they were.

First Frost

I have to admit it has been pretty hard getting up in the mornings. It is dark and cold
and I hate leaving my nice warm bed. Today when we looked out our window we saw our first frost. Seeing this made me want to jump right back into bed.

first visitors

We had our first visitors from California. John and Lori Loftus.
We gave them a tour of Bordeaux and St. Emilion.

We walked up the bell tower

The tree is where Tatiana's school playground is

Lori is an accomplished organ player. The church was kind
enough to let us use their 200 year old organ.

The knobs were really hard to pull but Lori did a fantastic job
A lot of footwork goes into organ playing

Thanks for visiting guys...we miss you!!

We finally worked out how to use the video on our digital camera.
Here is Tatiana with a song she just learned in her singing class.

Obama

Everyone in France is really happy about Obama.
Even our local bread lady said she would like to visit America now.
Nice to see that Americans are popular, lets see how long it lasts :)
