We went to visit Chateau Chenonceau which is one of the biggest in the Loire valley built in the 16th century. Henri II gave the castle to his mistress Diane de Poitiers. When he died his wife Catherine of Medici kicked her out and moved in.
I was told to look out for the flower arrangements which were stunning.

the entrance hall, with an amazing ceiling

it was Easter weekend so the theme was eggs

Louise of Lorraine's bedroom who was a widow so the room was painted black

Cesar of Vendome's bedroom

Catherine de Medici's bedroom

Gabrielle d'Estress bedroom

old terracotta floor

the tudor ceiling

cleverly hidden eggs

The grand hall where banquets were held
Diane de Poitiers room

chapel

the orangerie where you can have lunch or tea

the labyrinth, it had been raining so you were sloshing through mud
