Equestrian lessons

Tatiana has started taking horse riding lessons. I have to say of all her lessons this is her favorite. Tatiana rides the pony William, Jackie (the trainer) will see how she does then put her on a horse when she is ready, then she will start jumping.
They shouldn't have told her this because she asks
at every lesson "Can I jump now?"

Jackie is from England and had a horse business in the UK. She like the rest of us expats decided she wanted to live the French life. She packed up her best 60 horses, sold the rest and Voila! she is here now. I like that Tatiana gets trained in English. I was told I need to keep her English going or she will lose it.

Bricolage day

This weekend was Bricolage day. Its handy man day. The school asked for volunteers to help do some odd jobs around the school. When we showed up to help, there were only 4 other volunteers, shame on everyone else for not showing up.
We helped paint the toilets which hadn't been painted in 15 years.

When we finished we were treated to an aperitif, we just love the French.
What other school offers hard liquor :)

Terrasson

Tatiana has two weeks off for Easter so we decided to go to Sarlat. It is an hour and a half drive from us. We stopped for lunch in the town of Terrasson.

Sarlat

Sarlat-la-Canéda,

The town of Sarlat is in a region known in France as the Périgord Noir. The Périgord is known for its walnuts, fois gras and Bergerac wine.


Sarlat is a medieval town that developed around a large Benedictine abbey of Carolingian origin. The medieval Sarlat Catherdral is dedicated to Saint Sacerdos.

Sarlat is one of the most attractive and alluring towns in southwestern France.
Several Hollywood movies were shot here.
I must say it is worth the visit.

Went to this restaurant recommended to us by our hotel. Steaks brought on a steaming hot piece of slate. You cook it to your liking. Was the most tender meat we have ever had!


My cousin Kitty recommended this town and she was
right it is a beautiful town.
